The Poconos Are One Big Amusement Park

Activities in the Pocono Mountains are scattered throughout the 2400 square miles of the region of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Camelback Mountain is the central focus and Emerald Lakes the closest lake community to Camelback.

Emerald Lakes homes are also close to summer water parks. But, the important thing to know about this community is that it is self contain when it comes to activities. Owner and guests have access to Indoor and out door pools, tennis courts, basketball courts, fishing, beaches, lakes for canoeing / paddle boarding / kayaking, and a fitness center.

The community is centered in the Poconos and is in the more southern tier. This is the “Ski region.” All of the major ski resorts are here.

There is a northern tier called the “lake region” along Rt I-84. There are no major ski areas, but more and larger lakes.
